چکیده

In this paper, we establish a suucient condition for the stability of a multiclass uid network and queueing network under priority service disciplines. The suucient condition is based on the existence of a linear Lyapunov function, and it is stated in terms of the feasibility of a set of inequalities that are deened by network parameters. In all the networks we have tested, this suucient condition actually gives a necessary and suucient condition for their stability.

Existence Condition for the Diffusion Approximations of Multiclass Priority Queueing Networks

In this paper, we extend the work of Chen and Zhang (2000b) and establish a new sufficient condition for the existence of the (conventional) diffusion approximation for multiclass queueing networks under priority service disciplines. This sufficient condition relates to the weak stability of the fluid networks and the stability of the high priority classes of the fluid networks that correspond ...

Heavy Traffic Limits for Some Queueing Networks

Using a slight modification of the framework in Bramson [7] and Williams [52], we prove heavy traffic limit theorems for six families of multiclass queueing networks. The first three families are single station systems operating under first-in first-out (FIFO), generalized headof-the-line proportional processor sharing (GHLPPS) and static buffer priority (SBP) service disciplines. The next two ...

Stable Priority Disciplines for Multiclass Networks

It is well known that a multiclass network may not be stable under the usual traac condition that the arrived nominal workload is less than one. That this instability may happen in many \favorite" disciplines (such as rst-in-rst-out, shorted expected service times, and shorted expected remaining service times) has been the focus of many recent studies. In this paper, we address the stability is...

Stability of Multiclass Queueing Networks Under FIFO Service Discipline

In this paper, we rst formally identify a FIFO uid network that corresponds to the queueing network under a rst-in rst-out (FIFO) service discipline, thus complementing the result of Dai (1995a) for the use of the uid model for the stability of a multiclass queueing network under a FIFO service discipline. Then we establish two suucient conditions for the stability of a multiclass FIFO queueing...

Sample Path Large Deviations for Multiclass Feedforward Queueing Networks in Critical Loading

We consider multiclass feedforward queueing networks with first in first out and priority service disciplines at the nodes, and class dependent deterministic routing between nodes. The random behavior of the network is constructed from cumulative arrival and service time processes which are assumed to satisfy an appropriate sample path large deviation principle. We establish logarithmic asympto...
